Frequently Asked Questions
How do I write personal vows?
All couples who book with me are sent access to my personally written vow writing resource. It’s a 20-page document full of tips, tricks and examples of vows written by some of my other couples to assist you in writing the perfect vows. Once you have finished writing them, you are welcome to send them through to me for any additional suggestions or amendments in the case that you’re still feeling uncertain. It’s my priority to have you feeling as confident as possible about delivering your personal vows on your wedding day.
Do you travel outside of the Sunshine Coast?
I do travel outside of the Sunshine Coast, regularly doing weddings in Brisbane, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. Please note that there typically is an additional travel fee for these locations, and when I send a quote, I will include it all in the pricing.
How long does a wedding ceremony go for?
Foe me, a full-scale wedding typically runs between 25-30 minutes and that’s including the aisle walk and signing. I keep my content relevant to my specific couples (no weird sermons or filler) so that it’s punchy, engaging and often even entertaining for your guests.
Do you work with couples from the LGBTQIA+ community?
I’m a lover of all love and welcome any couples planning a same sex wedding. I am also inclusive of all genders and pronouns. I also make it my business to use language that is inclusive across all of the ceremonies I conduct.
Do we need to do a wedding rehearsal?
No, you absolutely do not! Rehearsals were a thing back in the day when weddings were still quite stuffy and rigid. These days we tend to taka a more relaxed approach, and having done well over 400 weddings, I have my system in coordinating a ceremony down pat so you can rest assured you’re in safe hands. In addition to going over how everything will run at our details meeting, I will visit you prior to your ceremony to give you a quick brief on what to expect from the aisle walk to sending you back out for congratulations. I’ll guide you through the whole experience, and ensure everything runs seamlessly on the day.
Do you take care of the legal bits?
Yes of course! I’m an authorised civil celebrant and work on behalf of the Attorney General Department. I also liaise with QLD BDM on your behalf, so will ensure you are supplied with the relevant paperwork, I’ll lodge it all, prepare your certificates and register your marriage after we’re done. This all happens online, so I’m able to make it a super simple process for you.
Do you have your own PA System?
Yes. I run a top on the line Bose speaker system with wireless mic kit. In the case that I’m delivering to a larger crowd (over 100 guests) or it’s a windy day, I might run two speakers for clarity and audio quality.
