Ben and Emily’s Hinterland Wedding Ceremony
Oh Ben & Emily had me at hello! I first met with these two when they visited from their home in Sydney to go over the details of their wedding day with me as their marriage celebrant. They brought with them their beautiful rescue greyhound London who lazily made herself at home in my living room while we chatted about the tone they hoped to set for their day. For Emily & Ben it was all about authenticity and channelling as much candid emotion as possible, which is something I’m happy to say we achieved in spades!
I visited Emily where her & the girls were getting ready in Montville as I typically do, ensuring her and her bridesmaids were all feeling 100% confident about their entrance and different components of the ceremony.
I then made my way to their wedding location, Honey Eater Farm Woombye, in the spectacular Sunshine Coast Hinterland to find their beautifully whimsical ceremony & marquee set by local stylist Style le Aisle & Florist Willowbud Flowers.
Emily arrived fashionably late, just to keep our groom on his toes!
But when she did arrive, her entrance was so emotional. Ben could hardly keep it together, shedding a few tears as she walked toward him escorted by both of her parents to Big Jet Plane played by musician Ollie Murk.
We included a sweet acknowledgement of both Emily’s parents on the aisle, before they gave their daughter a hug and took their seat.
I opened the ceremony by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land, as well as Ben & Emily’s fabulous bridal party, and families. We also touched on some big health battles and life events they had overcome together in their journey getting to this point of their lives. Their story had first started all the way back in 2003 at school, and my goodness were there some laughs!
We had the audience in absolute hysterics, before moving into the asking & vows, which again really set fire to those heart strings.
Their sweet Greyhound London came forward as ringbearer
and I finally, after 567 days of Covid postponement, pronounced them husband & wife!
Ben & Emily went on to celebrate in a cocktail style reception,
and after an outfit change, danced the night away in their spectacular clear marquee under the stars.
Congratulations Ben & Emily! This one was well and truly worth the wait xx
