Amy and Mitchel’s Sunshine Beach Wedding Ceremony
Oh, these two were gorgeous! I loved being their Marriage Celebrant.
I visited Amy before the ceremony at Sunshine Beach, something I always like to do and I’m so pleased I did! We had a lot of rain overnight, and our gal was really nervous about whether to go to her wet weather backup.
Being a Noosa local, and seeing the wind was coming from the west I could tell the afternoon was going to fine up and fine up it did. It was such a good feeling to see her breathe a sigh of relief, and enjoy the rest of her morning with the gals.
Amy’s father Stephen walked her down the aisle, and already there was hardly a dry eye in the room!
We included some sentimental acknowledgments of their parents & bridal party before getting into the love story. With respect to that love story, some couples surprise you, and these two were a surprise and a delight! We of course chatted extensively about the tone they hoped to set, and the priorities they had for their day, but it was once I received the questionnaires that would contribute to fully personalising their ceremony and love story that their adorably light-hearted banter, in-jokes, and hilarious quirks really shone through!
I have included an excerpt below from their script that was pieced together from the responses in their questionnaires, of what Mitchell had to say of Amy:
“I asked Mitch what it is he loves the most about Amy, and his response: I love Amy for all of the qualities she has, whether she’s struggling to tell you a joke because she’s laughing so hard while telling it or comforting me by stroking my hair and telling me everything will be ok. I love her crash tacko’s and rolly polly’s. I love that she can’t keep presents a secret, always asking if she can give them to you months in advance because she is so excited for you to have them. I love the way that Amy cares for everyone around her, always putting others first she has such a kind and caring nature, a contagious laugh, and can lift the mood in any room. Most of all, I love Amy for who she is, all of her. She makes my heart melt, it will be hers forever and always. He laughs at some of her quirks, her amazing singing and dancing skills, her ability to misplace her phone while it’s actually in her hand, her phobia of sneezing and having to test out every pillow, including his before deciding which is the best option to sleep on. He has learned so much from Amy including how to apply fake tan and the importance of concealer, highlighter, and bronzer. He has also learned not to let her apply said make-up to him… ever again. That the volume on the TV or car radio must be set to an even number, or the world might come to an end. Most importantly he has learned how much one person can change your life, she has helped shape him into the person he is today. She is the love of his life and his soulmate.”
What I love about this is that it was such a simple sequence of sweet and hilarious traits, quirks, and mannerisms that make Amy who she is. As this resonated so easily with their guests, it had them all in stiches. So simple, but effective!
Amy & Mitchell wrote their own vows with help from my very detailed vow writing kit, and let me tell you, that absolutely nailed them! Once again, there were tears all around.
Following their ceremony, they had photo’s taken on beautiful Sunshine Beach, Noosa before Amy changed her shoes to a comfier pair for the reception at Sunshine Beach Surf Club. They had their guests up dancing to the Macarena and by all accounts, it was one hell of a party!
Congratulations Amy & Mitchell, you were such a gorgeous couple to work with xx
