I really love when a couple makes the concious choice to have their day run in a way that see’s them enjoy it as much as possible. For Scott and Maddy it was ensuring they spent as much time with their guests as possible, and what’s the point in throwing an incredible party if you’re only going to miss part of it right?!

Maddy stunned in an off the shoulder gown with classic A-line silhouette by Wedding Dress Designer Karen Willis Holmes. She got ready at one on Noosa’s many luxury Air B&B’s alongside her family and wedding party who all wore personally chosen light blue dresses by Australian designers such as Aje & Zimmerman.

They did things a little differently by having a first look with their wedding party, as well as some celebratory Champagne before making their way to ceremony. The beauty of this meant that not only did they settle a few nerves, but they also managed to capture their wedding party photos so not to lose this time with their guests later in the day.

Once their wedding photo’s were done, it was time to make their way to ceremony location. You wouldn’t believe by the incredible ceremony scape that this location in Noosa Woods Bay was actually plan B for Scott and Maddy. They origonally planned to have theire ceremony at Maison la Plage, which is a popular spot on Noosa Main Beach at the top of Hastings Street. Due to the galeforce northlerly winds that were blowing right on to the beach, I made the suggestion that we switch to the opposite side of the Noosa Woods at Noosa Woods Bay. Protected by the woods themselves, this spot was idyllically calm by comparison.

This lesser known space on the river side of the Noosa Woods makes an incredible blank canvas, especially when styled by local Sunshine Coast wedding stylists Lovebird Weddings and florals by local wedding florist Willowbud Flowers.

Once it was time to geet their wedding ceremony underway and the crowd was warmed, Maddy walked the aisle with her Dad following her wedding party to claps, cheers and hardly a dry eye in sight.

Once their wedding ceremony was underway, I welcomed all of their guests and included some extra special gestures for their parents, wedding party and their Border Collie Ernie back home who sadly couldn’t make their Noosa Wedding! We went back to the moment they first met, and through their love story which was full of lighthearted humor creating the relaxed vibe Maddy & Scott hoped for on their day. Maddy’s sister also shared a few words from the iconic children’s book The Velveteen Rabbit that meant a lot to them, creating a really heartfelt moment.

Once we had all of their guests on the edge of their seats, it was time to get these two married! Having written their own personal vows, we lead into this with a simple asking and once they each said their personal and legal vows, I invited nephew Oscar forward as their ring bearer (he absolutely nailed his duties) before pronouncing them married and signing the certificates.

Once these two excited the aisle, following a few quick congratulations and having already captured their wedding party photo’s pre-ceremony, they made their way directly to The Catalina where their guests borded in the Noosa Woods. The Noosa Woods Jetty being only about a 100 meter walk from their ceremony location.

Able to enjoy cocktail hour on the boat was such a highlight for these two. They also had their incredible musician, Sunshine Coast wedding singer Gian perform onboard the Catalina as the boat took a sunset cruise up the Noosa River. They of course managed to sneak away for a few sunset portraits with their wedding photographer Harley from Bulb Creative.

Once 5:30 pm rolled around, the Catalina docked at Ricky’s where their guests disembarked and made their way into formal seated reception before dancing the night away.

Congratulations Scott & Maddy! Your wedding day was absolutely incredible and it was such a pleasure working with you both. xx
